Colin Jackson congratulated all the winners, saying: “It was a privilege to present the North East winners with their awards last night. Just as in sport you can’t get anywhere without training, these winners have shown that training is essential to getting ahead in business and in turning personal ambitions into reality. They deserve their success. Congratulations.”
The chair of the North East judging panel, Jackie Axelby, said: “My congratulations to all the winners from the North East. Their achievements are something we can all feel proud of. I also hope their success will inspire others to enter next year’s awards with their stories of how training has transformed their company, community or career.”
UK Skills Chief Executive, Simon Bartley, said the winners had shown the impact that carefully planned training could have when it was aimed at meeting specific organisational needs.
“Each of them has a story to tell about the specific benefits that their training has brought them, including: increased productivity; reduced waste; improved customer satisfaction; increased sales. They demonstrate that targeted training can boost a business’ bottom line.
“The individual winners provide a range of wonderful examples of the benefits that a personal investment in training can have. They’ve achieved goals – discovered new ambitions – gained self-confidence and make a significant contribution to their communities.”
