Enter the National Training Awards today

The 2011 National Training Awards is seeking entries from Investors in People accredited organisations that have delivered outstanding training programmes.

The Awards celebrate and showcase entrants that can demonstrate organisational benefits gained by directly linking the training needs of their people to the business needs of their organisation.  Entrants will compete to be named ‘the best of the best’ on a regional and national level.

Commenting on the Awards, Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning Minister John Hayes said: “It is more important than ever that business invests in high quality training that helps individuals develop fulfilling careers, drives competitiveness and fuels economic growth.  Entering the National Training Awards is a real opportunity for employers to gain the recognition they richly deserve for building the national skills base.”

Free to enter and covering the following four categories, the Awards encompass employers of all sizes and from across all sectors:

  • Macro Employer (1000+ employees)
  • Large Employer (250 – 999 employees)
  • Medium Employer (50 -249 employees)
  • Small Employer (up to 49 employees) [Organisations with 20 or less employees are not required to be Investors in People accredited to enter the Awards]

Winning a National Training Award can directly impact on an organisation’s success. Forty percent of recent winners have seen bottom line benefits as a result of winning, with one in five stating that they had seen an increase in the number contracts secured following their Award and one in three stating that their organisations had become more efficient.*

With a comprehensive judging process which closely relates to Investors in People criteria, all entrants to the Awards are provided with detailed evaluation reports which can be used to inform existing and future organisational development through staff training.  The Awards provide entrants with an opportunity to continually build on their accredited Investors in People status by gaining public recognition for achieving success by developing their people year on year.

This year, National Training Award Winners of the Year will be provided with the honour of celebrating their success on a global stage at the world’s largest international skills competition, WorldSkills London 2011. This unique event will enable NTA Winners to demonstrate their commitment to developing skills and raising standards in workplace learning on an international platform.

Free information seminars which provide advice and top tips on how to prepare the best National Training Awards entry are taking place across the UK throughout March and April. For more information visit www.nationaltrainingawards.com

The closing date for this year’s Awards is Friday 20 May at 5pm.

To enter the 2011 National Training Awards, organisations must have been accredited or re-accredited with Investors in People since 31 October 2008.
