We are looking for the following knowledge & experience from our judges:
- Having worked at a strategic/operational level within an organisation
- A good knowledge of what organisational and individual benefits look like
- Knowledge and experience of an education and/or training sector
- Knowledge and experience of training and development practice
- Previous experience of using criterion referenced judging processes

Please note that, although National Training Awards judging doesn't require excessive amounts of time, it is important that those involved are able to commit to all elements of the process. We therefore ask our judges to sign a letter of agreement to confirm that they are fully aware of what their role and duties are.
We ask our judges;
- To ensure up to date knowledge of NTA through attendance at the NTA briefing meetings and reference to the Judges handbook
- To commit to the confidentiality requirements of UK Skills
- To receive, read and analyse a maximum of 25 entries
- To fully understand the NTA category criteria and use this with the scoring system for the entry
- To review scores and ensure a personal consistency in this stage of the process
- To ensure that scores are returned in accordance with the agreed timeline
- Attendance and participation at the 2 Regional panel meetings
- To undertake a least 2 on-site visits for those entries being considered for an award
- If selected as the Lead judge for the visit then to set up the visit and complete the on-site visit form again in accordance with the agreed timeline. (please note that for the first visit new judges will be supported in this process)
- To offer feedback for entrants through the panel debate and discussion process
