are judged
Once entries have been submitted, they are assessed , scored and moderated by the Quality Assurance Manager and the moderation team. The entries which are considered to reach the minimum standard required for NTA judging then proceed on to the regional judging panel.
The regional judges then read and score these entries and the collated scores are prepared and disseminated. Entries are debated at a shortlist panel and from this a number in each category are likely to be selected for an on-site visit.
During the visit, the judges will meet with relevant members of staff, and will ask a set of compulsory questions, along with additional questions specific to the entry. The judges will be looking to check aspects already declared within the entry and to obtain additional information relating to:
- the design and delivery of the learning
- the measurable impact
- the entry being an exemplar in its category.
Following the on site visit, the judges prepare reports to be used at the regional winners judging panel. A number of Regional Training Award winners may be selected, along with a maximum of one UK National Training Award winner per category if the panel considers the entries to be of a high enough standard.
All of the UK National Training award winning entries from each region are then put forward to the UK judging panel. The judges read and score the entries, including the evidence and further information gathered from the on site visits. From these, one overall UK NTA Winner of the Year will be awarded in each category.
These UK NTA Winners of the Year will illustrate excellence in practice, identifying how employers, providers of education and training, partnerships & collaborations or individuals have applied learning and development in order to create impact and achieve outstanding success.
