Ambassadors - South East
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new regional co-ordinator for South East. My name is Steve Martin and I've been regional coordinator for about a year, helping to develop the Yorkshire and the Humber region. I am now involved in developing both Greater London and South East regions and also working to build NTA's profile on a National level. If you wish to get in touch with me you can. I am based at the UK Skills office in London and you can reach me on 0207 429 2826.
The entries for 2010 are now being judged with panels sitting and visiting entrants across our region now until the end of July. I'd just like to say thank you to all those of you who are involved in this busy but exciting time.
The Regional Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 5th October in Oxford, very definitely a date for your diary. It would be a pleasure to see you there, and I'll have more information about tickets nearer the time. We still have regional ceremony sponsorship available. Please get in touch with the Awards office should you wish to get involved.
A couple of differences this year surround what used to be called Information sessions. These have been re-branded NTA Seminars "How to construct a winning entry", with their main supporting those who are considering applying for an award to make the best of their application.

Virgin Holidays Trains Staff to Deliver
Exceptional Experiences
Virgin Holidays' has seen increased satisfaction among customers, key partners and other important trade and consumer-facing clients since a company-wide bespoke company values 2-day course. Refreshing the company values, all 3 based on ensuring the customer is at the heart of every area of the business, has seen tangible results in customer satisfaction, internal and external relationships.
Amanda Wills, managing director of Virgin Holidays, says: "I have always believed passionately in the basic truth that staff in a customer-facing business who live and breathe a common purpose can drive sustained success whatever the commercial backdrop. As the travel industry enters its toughest trading conditions yet, we have been consistent in increasing investment in staff training and engagement. There was never consideration of scaling back or compromising in our focus on our principle success drive - our people. Consequently we are in rude health against market benchmarks, and share a common purpose and belief in our values."
