Ambassadors - North West
Too Soon to Crow - but......
It's a bit too soon to crow about it, as entries have not yet been through the judging process, but in terms of entries this year the North West has done it again! In fact the entry statistics show that the region has improved on a very creditable second place last year to equal first (with London) this year with a total of 92 entries.
So let's allow ourselves a brief moment of satisfaction and reflect on the hard work that you - our Ambassadors have done to publicise and promote the Awards. It seems an age (and a huge difference in temperature as I swelter in my study typing this!) since we were meeting at a snow-bound Vocational College in Liverpool in January to discuss how we could promote the Awards further. I am aware of a lot of the hard work you have voluntarily undertaken in publicising, promoting and supporting NTA. So from me - a heartfelt thanks: your efforts have made a real difference.

O2 Staff Pledge To Stay Connected
With Customers
The UK's third largest telecommunications company has invested large sums of money to ensure they stay connected to both staff and customers alike.
O2 has a customer base of 18 million but because of the fierce competition within the industry, keeping hold of the customers has proved difficult. While analysing performance, the senior management team at O2 discovered the poor engagement of staff and bad customer services practices were impacting on customer experience and loyalty.
To change the behaviour of staff, O2 invested almost £400,000 towards the implementation of an innovative training programme. Called 'Stay Connected', the programme was devised by training specialists, Blue Sky Performance Improvement.
Name : Mike Postle
Mike spent the early part of his career researching aspects of physical chemistry before moving into education through teaching and lecturing. For the past 15 years Mike has run his own consultancy focussed on training and community regeneration.
His involvement and enthusiasm for NTA goes back some 19 years as a former winner, a judge and provider of various forms of entrant support. As ambassador co-ordinator for the North-West, he wants to help others gain some of the benefits he has done by becoming involved with and promoting the Awards.
